How to Run Maintenance Mode on a Brother Printer

Maintenance mode is a unique function for Brother printers that deigned for checking, setting and adjusting the machine using the keys on the control panel. You require special codes in order to access this mode and make use of its features. To learn more, keep reading:


I) Method for Service Personnel to Enter Maintenance Mode

  • Press and hold "Home" button for about five seconds when the printer is in the ready state.

  • Touch the blank field at the bottom and press “*2864” on the keypad.

  • The printer enters into maintenance mode.

  • Enter the function code to be executed.

II) Method for End-User to Enter Maintenance Mode

The maintenance mode functions should only be accessed by service personnel. However, end users are allowed to use some of these functions under the guidance of service personnel.

  • Press and hold "Home" button for about five seconds when the printer is in the ready state.

  • Touch the blank field at the bottom.Press “*0#” on the keypad and “0” is displayed on the screen.

  • Enter the function code to be executed.

Note:

End users should follow service personnel’s instructions to operate. Please be careful not to turn off power during operation, otherwise, the printer may be damaged. End users are recommended to back up the printer before use the maintenance mode functions.
