Printer Doesn’t Work? Follow our Tips to Solve!

Paper? Yes. Power? Yes. But the printer still doesn’t work! Most of you will regard this situation as machine fault or consumable damage. In fact, it may result from the poor connection between printer and computer as well as wrong settings. Some simple checks and setting changes can easily solve this problem.

 

Generally, printing failure will be caused by:

1. Printer drive problems

2. Print programme doesn’t run in the background

3. Connection problems between printer and computer

 

Today, Chipjet will teach you how to shoot troubles.

 

1. Check printer drive state

 

 

Click Devices and Printers in the Start menu

Find the printer in-use and right-click

Choose See whats printing

Click Printer option and deselect Pause Printing and Use Printer Offline 

 

2. Restart Print Spooler Programme


 

 

Call up the Run command dialogue box and open services.msc

Find Print Spooler and select

Choose Automatic in Startup type and you can restart Print Spooler programme

Note: no matter the printer is connected with the computer by USB cable or the wireless method, you need to do this step.

 

3. Check the communication between the printer and the computer


 


 

Click Devices and Printers in the Start menu

Find the printer in-use and right-click

Choose Printer properties

Choose Ports and select USB021

Note: you can see USB0XX in Ports and usually choose the bigger number. For example, if USB021 and USB020 appear at the same time, then USB021 is preferred.

 

Many people will meet the “printer doesn’t work” problem which can usually be solved by the above methods. If problems still exist, we suggest you change the document format or try to print another document. If these methods don’t help, please contact maintenance people and do not fix the printer by yourself.
