How to Change Printer’s Region

Printer manufacturers will group countries into "regions". So, if you attempt to use a cartridge that you bought in one country with a printer bought from another country, you’ll probably receive error messages such as “Incompatible Cartridges” or “Incorrect Cartridges”. Therefore, we post this article to show you how to change printer’s region:

How to Change Region on Printer

1.Printer with a Touch Screen

• Swipe down the tab at the top of the screen and tap the “Setup” button

• Choose “Printer Maintenance”–“Restore”-“Printer Supply Region Reset”
  

• Tap “OK” to perform the task
  

2.Printer without a Touch Screen

• Press the “OK” button

• Choose “Setup”-“Printer Maintenance”–“Restore”-“Printer Supply Region Reset”
  

• Press the “OK” button to perform the task
  

How to Change Printer Region Using Computer

• Find printer’s IP address

• Enter printer’s IP address to visit the Embedded Web Server
  

• Click “Settings”
  

• Choose “Security”-“Printer Supply Region Reset”
  

• Click “Apply” to perform the task
  

The above is how to change printer’s region. However, it should be noted that once the area has been reset, you could only use the cartridges that are specially designed for this region. Furthermore, after three resets, some printers will permanently lock a zone. Therefore, we advise you not to reset the region frequently in order to avoid any inconvenience.
